Hayfield Orchestra Boosters
The Hayfield Orchestra Boosters is an organization dedicated to helping the orchestra program through a number of supportive services. The Boosters support the Hayfield Secondary School seventh through twelfth grade Orchestra Program by providing assistance and support to the Orchestra Directors by running fundraisers, helping with trip preparations and chaperoning, and aiding the orchestra program in other efforts as needed. Volunteering in the Boosters is a way for parents to become involved in their child’s education. Our tradition of excellence relies on a team of volunteers, educators, and students. Volunteer form is attached; please return to Mrs.Vien or Ms. Miller.
Membership
Membership will be voluntary and unlimited and classified as follows:
Active membership is extended to all middle and high school Orchestra parents, guardians and students.
Honorary membership may be extended by the Boosters to any person in recognition of a worthwhile contribution to the Orchestra Program. Honorary members will be entitled to all benefits of, participation in, and patronage of, the Boosters, except they shall not vote, hold office, or participate in the management of the Boosters.
Alumni membership is extended to all previous Orchestra parents, guardians and students. Alumni members will be entitled to all benefits of, participation in, and patronage of, the Boosters, except they shall not vote, hold office, or participate in the management of the Boosters.
Through your membership and fundraising, the Booster organization pays for the following: Festival performance fees and transportation, clinicians to work with small groups of students, professional development, substitute teachers during our competitions, end-of-year gifts for our seniors and Directors, MS & HS Awards, sheet music, instruments and supplies, and hospitality receptions, MS Picnic, and HS Graduation lunch. The Donation/Membership Form is attached. All members will be recognized in our Concert Programs.

Meetings
Booster meetings are open to all Orchestra parents, guardians, students and booster members. Please join us! We meet at 7:00 pm in the Orchestra Room. Our scheduled meetings for this year are: October 6, November 17, January 26, February 23, and April 26.
Fundraisers
Our major fundraiser is held during the Fall. All students participating in this fundraiser receive credit into their student account.
Fall Fundraiser
We will be selling Claire’s Elegant Desserts, Treats & Sweets, Pizza and More, Purely American Popcorn, Coffees, and Slow Cooker Dinner Kits, and Virginia Diner Peanuts Products. Orders will be collected beginning September 28 and must be turned in to Ms. Vien or Ms. Miller by October 19. Items will be available for pickup at our MS concert on December 6 and HS concert on December 7. Students will receive 50% of the profit in their Student Account.
Restaurant Nights
We will be sponsoring Restaurant Nights in late October and early February. A portion of each bill will be donated to the boosters.
Spirit Wear/Car Magnets
We currently have T-Shirts for $10 and Car Magnets for $5.00. Contact Sandy England or Jessica Tyeryar if interested. They can be reached through hsoboosters@gmail.com .
Student Accounts
A portion of the profits earned by individual student fundraising efforts will go into a Student Account. The student uses the money in his or her account to help defray the cost of the Spring Trip. Student Account balances will be emailed to the parents in early January. In order to use the money from your Student Account you must fill out an Orchestra Student Account form (attached) and turn it in with your Spring Trip payment. Concert Attire
HS Ladies - Dress
High School women wear a black velvet & knit dress. The cost of a new dress is $65, if available, a slightly used dress is $40 or if available, you can rent a dress for $25 per year.
HS Gentlemen - Tuxedo
High School men wear black tuxedos. The tuxedo package will include: coat, shirt, pants, bow tie and cummerbund is $110.00. It will not include shoes.
MS Gentlemen - Attire
Middle School men wear white tuxedo shirts and black bow ties and cummerbunds. The cost is $22.
Students will be fitted in late September/early October - Order Form attached
Communications
All Orchestra and Booster information is posted on: www.hayfieldorchestras.com . (The website is undergoing updates; some information may not show up until the end of September) We send out emails throughout the year; if you would like to be added to the list please send an email to hsoboosters@gmail.com. Lastly, we use Sign-up Genius as a means to obtain volunteers for concerts and other events throughout the year.
